Just wanted to say a quick thank you to MSA for setting this up and to everyone who’s been so welcoming. We’ve only been here a few weeks but we’ve already learned more from reading these threads than from months of YouTube videos.
The local knowledge, the honest equipment reviews, the safety discussions — it’s all incredibly valuable. And the fact that people are genuinely helpful rather than gatekeeping or showing off is refreshing.
We’re feeling much more prepared for our Coastal Skipper course and much more confident about our plan to buy a boat and start our sailing life here.

Totally agree! This community has been so welcoming. It’s rare to find an online space where people are this helpful without any ego. Special shout out to Carlos for offering to take me sailing and James for the incredible route and weather knowledge. You’ve all made this nervous new sailor feel right at home.
That’s very kind, Tom and Lisa. I think the reason this community works is because we’re all united by the same thing — a love of sailing and Mallorca. There’s no competition here, just shared enthusiasm. And new voices asking good questions make it better for everyone.
