RYA Day Skipper (Practical)
Who it’s for: You’ve done some sailing (ideally Competent Crew or equivalent experience) and want to skipper a yacht in familiar waters during daylight.
What you’ll learn:
- Passage planning and pilotage
- Boat handling under sail and engine
- Man overboard recovery
- Anchoring and mooring
- Basic meteorology and navigation
Duration: 5 days on the water
After the course: You’re qualified to charter in most Mediterranean destinations.
RYA Coastal Skipper (Practical)
Who it’s for: Experienced Day Skippers ready to take on longer passages, night sailing, and more challenging conditions.
What you’ll learn:
- Passage planning for multi-day trips
- Night navigation
- Advanced boat handling in stronger winds
- Crew management and leadership
- Emergency procedures at a higher level
Duration: 5 days, including at least one night passage
After the course: You’re equipped for longer coastal passages and offshore preparation.
