Now that I’ve got my Day Skipper I’m keen to get out on the water as much as possible, but I don’t have my own boat (yet!). Is anyone in the Palma area looking for regular crew or a sailing buddy?
I’m available most weekends and often during the week too (flexible work schedule). I can helm, trim sails, and I’m getting better at navigation. I’m also happy to help with maintenance and boat prep.
What I’m hoping to improve:
- Berthing (my nemesis)
- Anchoring confidence
- Sailing in stronger winds
- Just logging more hours on the water
I’ll bring snacks and enthusiasm!
Sophie, you’re welcome to come out on my Bavaria anytime. I usually sail Wednesday afternoons and weekends. I could use a regular crew member and I’m happy to help you practise berthing — we can do laps of the marina until you’re confident! Seriously though, the offer is open. Everyone needs water time after qualifying.
If you’re interested in racing, the Club de Mar runs Wednesday evening races through the summer. It’s a great way to meet people, get water time, and improve your skills quickly. The racing boats are always looking for crew — just turn up at the club around 17:00 on a Wednesday and ask around.
When we eventually charter, we’d love to have you along! More hands make light work and it would be fun to have another couple of Day Skippers learning together.
