One of the best things about sailing in Mallorca is the food! After a day on the water there’s nothing better than tying up and walking to a great restaurant.
I’m still exploring but here are my favourites so far in Palma:
- La Lonja area — loads of options but Can Eduardo has been my favourite for seafood
- Portixol — slightly outside the centre but the waterfront restaurants there are lovely. Less touristy than La Lonja
- Mercat de l’Olivar — not marina-side but the market tapas are incredible and it’s a short walk from the yacht club
Where do you all go after sailing? Looking for recommendations across the island — not just Palma.
For Palma, try Forn de Sant Joan — it’s in the old town, not right on the water but the food is excellent and it’s a local favourite rather than a tourist trap.
Around the island:
- Port de Sóller — Sa Fábrica de Gelats for ice cream after arriving, then Es Passeig for dinner
- Cala Figuera (the village) — Es Port is right on the harbour and the fish is as fresh as it gets
- Pollença — Il Giardino, lovely Italian place in the old town
You’ll eat well everywhere in Mallorca, honestly.
In Port de Pollença I’m a regular at Stay — Swedish-owned restaurant right on the waterfront. Great brunch after a morning sail. There’s also Laguna which does excellent paella if you order it in advance.
One tip: in the smaller ports, always ask the locals (or the marina staff) where they eat. The tourist restaurants on the front are rarely the best value.
Port Adriano has some surprisingly good restaurants for a modern marina. Ritzi is excellent for a special occasion. It’s pricey but the setting is stunning.
I’ll second Carlos on Cala Figuera — it’s one of the most charming fishing villages on the island and the restaurants serve whatever came in that morning.
As an Italian I’m probably too critical of the pizza here, but for genuinely good Italian food, try Mama Carmen in Santa Catalina. It’s the closest to proper Italian cooking I’ve found on the island.
In Alcúdia, Can Costa does excellent Mallorcan traditional dishes. The tumbet and the frito mallorquín are both very good.
Saving all of these! We’ve only been to a couple of places so far. Can confirm Portixol is lovely — we went to Anima Beach Bar for sunset drinks and it was gorgeous. Not fine dining but perfect for a sundowner.
